WHO WE ARE
We are a small, woman-owned and operated barbershop & salon located in Paradise, Texas specializing in clipper cuts, beard trims and men’s styling. We are staffed by licensed cosmetologists, barbers, and a cosmetology student as our receptionist.
MISSION
At our core, our goal is to give every person that walks in our door the best hairstyle possible while we connect to the people of our community. We marry the world of barbering and cosmetology in a judgement-free, laid back environment. We laugh, we give great haircuts, and most importantly we have fun doing it.
THE SALON
Our salon is located in the one and only strip center in Paradise, TX with easy access from Highway 114. Located right next to Dollar General, we have ample parking and plenty of space to spread out inside.
Generations’ Story
Our story is one built on generations of dedication to the craft of hair. It began in the early 1970s with Jada’s great-grandmother, Mary-Jane “Janie” Holt. Always drawn to styling, she was doing hair for friends and family even before earning her license. In 1972, she officially became a licensed cosmetologist, soon joining with her friend Nadine to open His and Hers Salon, later known as Hair Affair, where she worked until she retired nearly 40 years later.
That same year, her grandmother Karen Holt graduated from beauty school, after starting in September 1971. She was kept on an extra month because of the loyal clientele she built while still a student. Karen began her career at salons in Irving, including Cameo Beauty Salon, Hairbenders, and the famously pink-and-gold Golden Triangle Salon. In 1974, she moved back to Bridgeport, working at “The Beauty Shop,” and after a short time in Colorado, returned in 1980 to work alongside her mother Janie at His and Hers and Hair Affair. Karen continued in the industry until she retired in 1996.
Decades later, inspired by both of these incredible women, Jada decided to carry on our family tradition. She attended Weatherford College Cosmetology in 2017 and then Brighton Barber Institute in 2022, proudly becoming the third generation to serve our community through this craft. Generations Barber Salon stands as a testament to the passion, skill, and love for people that Janie and Karen built their lives around, a legacy Jada is honored to continue.
